DASH Editing Services
Services & Experience
I offer editing services for a variety of industries including academics, students, podcasts, brands, mental health professionals, and others. You can find an explanation of the types of editing I do in the dropdown menu below.
I’ve been editing professionally for three years and have worked in marketing, public relations, podcasting, and higher education for a combined 10+ years. To learn more about my background, visit my work portfolio. Given my varied experience, I am able to adapt to different styles, tone, and audience to ensure your message is clear.
I’m also trained to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL) and can assist non-native speakers with ensuring their research is conveyed clearly in English.

Need a fresh pair of eyes to catch any remaining issues? Let me help.
I will complete a line-by-line detailed read for corrections that focus on spelling, grammar, word choice, phrasing, sentence structure, tense issues, flow, and tone to ensure document consistency and clarity.
It also includes style editing when necessary (ex. AP, Chicago, MLA, APA). Please provide the author guide from the journal or publisher if available. Otherwise, note the required style.
When working with an author, I require a one-time meeting to discuss the work. This helps me to ensure I’m reading your writing with your goals in mind.
Best for scholars, students, journals, book editors, and publishers in the humanities & social sciences.

Working With Me
Every project begins with an initial conversation. I believe editing your work requires that I understand the goals for a particular piece. This initial conversation will usually take place via email to ensure that I am a good fit for your needs, to define the scope of work, and agree on a timeline.
Once we decide to work together, I will provide you with a quote and contract for your project. This quote will be based on the approximate word count* you shared. After you sign-off on the quote and contract, we will schedule a one-on-one meeting for all copyediting work. Formatting projects will begin once the quote and contract are signed.
One-on-one meetings are a chance for me to hear if you have any specific concerns you want me to focus on, the goals of your writing, and any other information we find important for me to know before editing.
As I complete your project, I will reach out with any questions I have. I will also keep you updated on progress and timeline.
Once the work is complete, you will receive a Word document that uses track changes and comments. I offer a follow-up meeting to answer any questions you may have as part of my services. Any meetings beyond that are charged at $30/meeting.
You will receive a final invoice after the project is finished. Payment is due within 30 days of receipt.
*I prefer to work in word count as it is a better estimate of the amount of time a project will take. However, if you need a quote written out in hours or pages due to third party funding, I am happy to oblige.
